Our Story
Quintescents was born from our founder’s deep desire to find lasting solutions to the chronic ailments that affected both herself and her parents. Although Rui grew up exposed to a combination of traditional oriental treatments and western prescription medicine, these approaches offered only temporary relief. This led her to seek a more holistic path through self-directed learning and formal certification.
As a certified Chinese Medicine Health Management Practitioner and NAHA Aromatherapist, Rui founded Quintescents by integrating her knowledge of Chinese
Medicine and aromatherapy. Drawing from both traditional oriental and western medical
wisdom, she created therapeutic blends designed to support the body as a whole. These holistic formulations have since become the foundation of Quintescents’ approach to healthy living and improved well-being.
Through our thoughtfully curated blends and holistic solutions, we aim to enhance
quality of life and support balanced living, so our customers can fully savour the
moments that matter.
Our Approach
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ayurveda, and Aromatherapy are three ancient holistic healing systems that have been used for centuries to promote wellness and balance in the body, mind, and spirit. Together, they are greater than the sum of their parts. Aromatherapy can be used in TCM to enhance the benefits of acupuncture or massage, and in Ayurveda, to balance the doshas and promote relaxation during meditation or yoga.
TCM
A system of healing that emphasizes the balance between yin and yang, two opposing forces in the body, and the flow of Qi (vital energy) throughout the body’s meridian channels. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and massage are some of the common practices used in TCM.
Ayurveda
A holistic health system originating in India that focuses on balancing three doshas, which are biological energies that control bodily functions. Ayurvedic treatments include herbal medicine, dietary changes, yoga, and meditation.
Aromatherapy
The therapeutic use of essential oils derived from plants to promote physical and emotional well-being. Essential oils are extracted from plants’ leaves, stems, flowers, and roots and are used in diffusers, massage oils, and other products.
