We often think of change as adding something new.
A new habit.
A new routine.
A new tool.
But in many healing traditions, transformation begins by making room.
Room in the body.
Room in the breath.
Room in the way we respond.
When the system is constantly holding — responsibility, explanation, emotional labour — there is little space for steadiness to arrive.
Rituals involving scent can support this process not by doing more, but by softening what is overheld. By signalling to the nervous system that it is safe to release.
Making room is not dramatic.
It is a quiet, repeated choice.
And over time, the space you make becomes the ground you stand on.
